Chandrayaan -1




It was india's first Lunar Probe. 
It was launch by the Indian space research organisation. 
In October 22,2008,and operated until August 2009.

Subsequently, government of india approve ISRO's proposal for the first india moon mission, called Chandrayaan -1 in November 2003.

The chandrayaan -1 performed high resolution remote sensing of the moon in visible, near infrared (NIR) low energy x-rays and high energy x-rays regions.

It aimed that conducting mineralogical and chemical mapping of the entire lunar surface for the distribution of mineral and chemical elements like magnesium, Aluminium, Silicon, calcium, iron and Titanium as well as Radon, uranium and Thorium.

Chandrayaan was launched PSLV, C-11 on October 22, 2008 which es XL variations of ISRO's PSLV, PSLV was later used to launch the mars orbit mission in 2013.
